So pregnancy has it’s share of good things and bad things. The dreadful pregnancy cravings and weight gain, no fun!! Luckily I did not put on too much weight last pregnancy, only 25 lbs which is pretty much on the low end of weight gain. I was quite proud cause I made sure I ate healthy and good for my baby and me. This one I feel like I am going to gain more because I wasn’t as toned as I was before my first pregnancy. I am only at +7 lbs at 18 weeks. I know a lot will come from the baby bump as that comes in 3rd trimester.

I was extremely blessed with this pregnancy by not having my ultimate horrific morning sickness I had with Nyla. Basically throwing up night and day and feeling absolutely horrible for 3 months. It was the most pain I have ever been in for that long of time. I was super scared out of my mind to do this again and this pregnancy I just had the normal pregnancy sickness which still wasn’t fun but a million times better than what I went through last time. So with that being said I was able to eat more this first trimester, last pregnancy first trimester I lost 5 lbs. I didn’t eat absolutely wonderful this first trimester, you pretty much just eat what you can and what doesn’t make you feel nauseous.

Second trimester so far I have been eating really well. This is normally the best trimester out of the three. You start to feel a little more normal when it comes to foods. My favorites from this trimester so far have been:

Strawberries that I eat for dessert normally

A nice ham sandwich with an avocado for lunch

I am actually switching up my lunch to a lite cheese sandwich with an apple

I was doing carrots with ranch dip for a snack but I haven’t been doing that lately

Bananas with whipped cream is great for my banana cream pie craving

I just recently had a craving for some nice baked ruffles chips. It was the right kinda saltiness and crunch I wanted but I am pulling the plug on those this week cause I can tell they are going to become a problem

Ice cream has been sounding good lately so I bought some big stick popsicles that are fat free and not too bad in sugars I’ll do every so often

And then my breakfast I have just loved some nice scrambled egg whites and egg beaters with a little bit of ketchup and some lightly buttered whole wheat toast, or Josh’s specialty that he has gotten me hooked on my scrambled eggs with corn tortillas chopped and and cheese. It is really good with some watered down orange juice. I have been craving his eggo waffles lately and sometimes sneak one for breakfast.

My newest crave is Gala apples. I never really knew how delicious those apples were. I eat 1 maybe 2 a day.

I can’t wait till all the Summer fruits are in season so I can start chowing down on some yummy watermelon, cantelope, and pineapple. Watermelon was a huge pregnancy craving last pregnancy. One of those ones you absolutely need or you start to go crazy. I know it will be a huge craving this time around too especially since I will do the third trimester during summer which I am so excited to do! And Pinkberry!! So excited to be so close to one of those again!!

I am 17 weeks almost 18 weeks along right now as I am writing this post. A couple months ago I started feeling the baby pushing out on my belly. Which for all you that haven’t experienced it yet it basically feels like a lump starts portruding out of your belly and you feel you stomach start to stretch a little. It is sometimes to the left or right but normally it is on the right of my belly and being so early on it is more in the lower pelvic region than the belly.

So about a week ago is when I started to feel the little one doing some kicks. It was Friday March 18 late at night. We just had our Property Management company come over and so we were up late putting our furniture on Craigslist. It was just the feeling I remember with Nyla. It was so cute how tiny it was and it started to become very squirmy that night. That was just the start. Now I feel them all the time. They seem to already be a night owl like me and Josh, haha. At one moment I would be watching Nyla sleeping in her crib on her monitor and the next I would feel some kicking from my other little one inside me. Kinda a weird concept of having two.

Much more pregnancy experiences to still come…. but I have to say I can not wait to not be pregnant anymore and be finished.

I would have to say that I won’t miss much about Oregon. The one thing I will miss a ton is our Doctors. Me and Nyla had the most amazing doctors and we just loved our hospital. Now see how I don’t mention Josh cause he still refuses to go get a check up. Stubborn men. Providence in Newberg is where I delivered Nyla and where me and Josh made countless trips for all my pregnancy appointments. It was a beautiful new hospital, nice and quiet. That will sure change in Southern Cali but definitely not that big of a deal to make me want to stay in Oregon. Nyla had a wonderful doctor too that was actually in my delivery room when I had her because of my complications there was a whole staff making sure nothing went wrong with me and Nyla. We ended up staying with her after I delivered and she was just amazing at the Providence Sherwood location. Another nice small and quiet hospital. They were amazing and will be truely missed. That is the one thing I wish I could bring with me back to Cali. Thats about it, haha. Oh, and maybe Gustav’s German Pub.

Here is our last visit with my doctor for our 18 weeks check up where I had to break the bad news. Jody was an amazing doctor and friend.

http://www.thehemsley.com/hemsley-party-of-four/

I wrote this post below a while ago, around when I was 3 months, I am right now 5 months along, thats right over half way done!! I have about 3 other blog posts about the pregnancy that will be posted soon.

So we have been keeping a little secret from everyone. For those of you wondering why I have kinda fallen off the social network world, I have been dealing with a lot of exciting things coming up plus I did not want to become an internet addict so stepping away is sometimes a good thing. I am actually writing this before I am even going to publish this to my blog site. Getting a little head start. I know some knew that we have been trying for another baby and we had a little strategy of trying for a boy. It may be considered wives tales to some but the one I use is pretty dang accurate so might as well try according to this chinese gender predictor I found on The Bump a long time ago. It has been accurate for every pregnancy except one but I am not entirely sure I got the correct info.

So we were kinda trying October and November, I really didn’t want to get sick during the holidays. December rolled around and this was the month we were really hoping for. I made it through the holidays and so we were ready.

So I tested and I have to say I was super excited for the first test result with Nyla but this one I just could not believe it said Pregnant!! I was super excited! It was just the most perfect time. We have a possibility of a boy but I would totally love another girl too so its a win win for me, Nyla and the baby will be a little over 2 years apart, it will be a Summer birthday very end of August or beginning of September if im late which was a must must here in Oregon I really did not want to have the baby in the depressing seasons, although with the grace of God we don’t have to worry about bad weather anymore with our awesome move back to sunny SoCal.

This picture is at 3 months, we have not been good keeping up with the photos. I want to take pics outside but our weather blows here so when we are back in sunny SoCal we will be sure to keep up on that.

Almost 3 months (about 11 weeks)

Today is our second day with Josh gone on his business trip to Boston with his fellow workers. This is his second time in 2 months, ugh. I know that this is good for his company and in return is good to us so thats what keeps me going. I know there are wonderful things ahead for us with his company. I just can’t wait till they finish up and launch the site so we can head to The Caribbean. Much needed from Gloomy Bore-gon.

The first day Nyla was saying Dadda over and over going into his office or when she woke up went over to his side of the bed where she normally says good morning to her daddy. She is used to her Dadda taking her to her trips to the potty, loves hanging out in his office with him, playing ball, trading bites of each others popsicles after nap time, and her favorite bedtime with daddy. I just can’t figure out their bed time routine. It has been sad trying to explain to her that he is gone for a little while. She has been getting better as the days go by luckily.

On a brighter note I was delivered some flowers from my husband. They are beautiful and bring me hope of a way out of here and into beautiful sunshine wether that be vacation and/or permanent :)

Nyla Breeze has had her good days (yesterday) and more tough days (today) but I am not going to complain cause I know I am strong and God can help me through anything and I know my husband will be back soon and we will be complete again. Everyone has their rough breaking point days but staying strong and telling yourself you can get through this actually works better than breaking down, at least to me it does. It is sometimes almost mental. When you start breaking down you start feeling sorry for yourself. I have realized from my own experiences and others that it doesn’t really help much. You learn a lot through mommyhood and it definitely can test your patience but I have such a great and beautiful family I can’t complain!!

On a fun note me and Nyla Breeze had a pile of pancakes with cinnamon, syrup and whipped cream for dinner tonight. I thought hey its national pancake day. It sounds kinda good so lets go with it. Nyla was in heaven and ate 3 pancakes (they were mini pancakes by the way, not 3 big pancakes )

Love you and miss you Hubby!! I will see you soon.

Other than my little family of course… My true love has always been Interior Design. Way back it was crafts and HGTV. HGTV transformed from craft shows more into Interior Design shows which sparked my love for design.

After high school I went to FIDM (fashion institute of design and merchandising) in Irvine, Ca. It was a well known fashion school and also had other deign related majors. It was such an awesome school, that is where my love for fashion came from. Everyone was always all dressed up and in Fashion. I went there for 2 years and then you have to go to the L.A campus to finish but I really wanted to stay in Orange County so I looked around for other options and found IDI (interior designer’s institute) in Newport Beach. Umm, could it not have been any more perfect!! It was a nice little school like 2 min from Fashion Island Mall, Score!! My favorite mall ever!! I was totally in love and the student work was amazing. Anyways, I went there for about 3 years (lost all my design credits from FIDM, lame!) It was fun yet an extremely hard program. Don’t underestimate the knowledge and schooling of Interior Designer’s (not decorators, big difference). There is more to designing than just the fun picking out furniture and accessories. Total reconstruction of kitchens, codes… And Commercial Design is a whole other beast. Although I would love to get into restaurant or hotel design. I graduated with my degree in Interior Design and Architecture. Such an amazing accomplishment and awesome feeling!!

My life got pretty crazy a year after with all my wonderful changes I decided to bring upon myself all at once. Not to mention the economy crashed. (not good for INTD) As a mom and housewife you do put yourself last. Your baby and husband seem to come first. It is just so exhausting it is hard to find time for yourself. I know I will get back into INTD once we are moved back to Cali and my kids are in school. That makes me jump for joy when I think about it.

I love being a mommy but before kids my love was Interior Design and I could never lose that.

I am going to leave you with my favorite in Interior Design right now that seems to be getting more popular this year. I am so in love with white. It’s so refreshing and leaves the room so light and airy. I would not do this with kids although I am already planning on doing our Master bedroom with a beautiful white romantic feel. I told Josh when we have our Beach House over looking the ocean in Orange County once the kids are out of the house I want tons of white.

So I have been wanting to start blogging about my favorite beauty products because I have really enjoyed seeing what others recommend and why. There are so many products out there it can sometimes get overwhelming on what to try. I have been trying to work on my skin cause I have been breaking out like crazy lately and nothing I tried was working. I was going to start trying Clinique cause I have heard great things about it but it is a little expensive in hopes that it would actually work. I was at Target with Nyla one day and when through the skin care aisle. I spotted This Neutragena cleanser in this clear bottle that was this sparkly pink looking color. It was so pretty and caught my eye. Of course this is sometimes how I pick products is just by their packaging, haha.

This stuff ended up working really good. Its called the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit foaming scrub. It doesn’t actually foam up which i don’t mind. It is super silky with some little beads in it. The first time I used it my face felt so smooth. My face was clearing up and felt less oily.

The next product that I have been loving right now is the Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture for combination skin. This is really nice cause the foaming scrub does start to dry your skin out that kinda it’s job for clearing up your face but then I just put this on after. It gives your skin moisture but also controls the oil too. Thats why I got the combination skin.

Now of course an eye cream is must have. The only part of my face that I might see some fine lines is probably under my eyes. So since I have been liking the Neutrogena products I thought I would stay with it and get an eye cream. I always check online to see what are the main ingredients that an eye cream should contain to really help with aging skin. This is what made me pick this eye cream. I don’t remember off the top of my head right now what they were but this eye cream did have the ingredients to more effectively help with lines.

For makeup I have been seeing really strong recommendations for the Laura Mercier silk creme foundation. I was already using their foundation primer and powder compact which I absolutely loved. I tried their liquid foundation and it seemed like every other one where it just felt so caked on. This creme foundation is actually really really good. It just leaves your face look porcelain. It covers up the imperfections and smoothes out your complexion without being too heavy. Of course at times when I am working on my skin and I have some dry spots from trying to clear up my skin the dry spots don’t take the makeup very well but thats with any makeup even powder. Laura Mercier products are on the expensive side but it really works good and have great oil free products. Its so worth it.

A couple other new products that I am loving right now are the Nars bronzer in Laguna. I always hear great things about Nars but I hear tons on this bronzer. A bronzer is a must have for me because I always put sunblock on my face (well normally back in Cali where the hot sun shines, not much here in Oregon, ha) to keep my skin protected so my face can be pale so I need that fake tan added to my face. I like this bronzer cause it is oil free, it has a nice slight shimmer to it without being too shimmery. Again, Nars products are on the pricey side but sometimes its worth it for great products.

Lastly, good makeup remover wipes are important. I ran across these Clean and Clear Oil Free Makeup Remover Wipes. Oil Free is very important and sometimes hard to find. They are already pre moistened. They are great. They have a nice subtle scent, just enough moisture without being too wet, nice bit towelette to take everything off, nice material and that is strong yet very soft. Your face feels so refreshed and smooth already.

I would love to hear about others favorite beauty products!!

This month kicked off some falling snow for us. We had some big snowflakes falling November Sunday 21st, it didn’t stick yet. Then Monday night we had more snow falling. Unfortunately I was sick with the stomache flu so I didn’t get to watch it falling. The next morning I got to see some of the leftover snow outside.

We got Nyla into her new snow gear and she was super excited to go outside and see what this white stuff was. She went straight to her sand box with the snow on top. She loves eating ice so of course she went straight to putting the snow in her mouth. She loved walking on the grass with snow on it. It was all frozen and crunchy. It was freezing cold out so we were out there for just a little bit and Nyla was not too happy about that.

Later at night she grabbed her snow vest and shows me that she wants to put it on. Then she grabs my hand and pulls me to the sliding door to show me she wants to go outside. Poor little one doesn’t realize how cold it is here. It’s not California Nyla Breeze, too cold to play outside. I love my little one, she is just way too cute!!
