Vegan Adventure!

I have been trying for a while since having Nyla Breeze to lose some baby weight along with just eating healthy. My number 1 goal was to just lose some weight so I was trying low carb, low calorie, low fat diets along with just counting carbs and calories with the Daily Burn. The Daily Burn for the first month worked really well. I got down to my original weight before I got pregnant, but I felt so deprived of food. After that point I went crazy and just ate everything and gained it all back plus a little more. I just didn’t know what to do. My cravings and taste buds are different then before the pregnancy so I am having a hard time dealing these new cravings and no self control. I felt like when I was doing a low carb diet I was missing nutrients, same with all the others.

I was watching Oprah and she had Alicia Silverstone on her show talking about her diet and new book. It was about living a Vegan lifestyle. She had so much passion and joy in her face when talking about it. What she explained about how she used to feel was and is totally me. She explained how she is now and I thought that this might be a great new way of eating which along helps with losing weight. I also saw her again on Rachel Ray and then on a late night show. I was totally sold on at least trying. I went and got the book and fell in love with it. I am not a big reader but it was set up great and easy to follow and understand. All the information she wrote about dairy and meat made sense. I am not sure I could totally be a Vegan but I think maybe just cutting back on meat and dairy will make a big difference.

I normally would be pretty bloated and I just could feel my body not very happy when I would eat bad. Even just these few days of not eating dairy and meat I have felt a difference, especially when I had half of a hamburger and 4 chocolate chip cookies at Kesha and Vin’s house last night. I felt so bloated and horrible. So I am back to healthier eating today. I am gonna start this week Monday with Vegan recipes and I will post pictures along with the recipes and my feedback on how I think they tasted. I will blog about the journey of a new lifestyle and also my good friend Kesha Thomas is gonna do the same. It always helps to have a friend doing it with you for support and motivation.

I am gonna start off with some Vegan products that I have had that I would highly recommend. They are all extremely good.

Such an awesome book. “The Kind Diet”

These Pancakes are so good for those mornings you want a quick breakfast

These vegan choco chip cookies are the best ever! They are so good they are gone in the bag, lol.

These ice cream sandwiches are really good and you can’t even tell they are vegan.

More vegan foods to come……….. Stay tuned!!
